They blamed Canada six years ago and now the strange and twisted minds behind the cartoon "South Park" are in Toronto promoting the DVD release of their marionette movie “Team America: World Police.”

This film is a far cry from the tame, Sunday morning puppet adventures of Davey and Goliath, or the Thunderbirds. College buddies Trey Parker and Matt Stone created “Team America”, a naughty flick that offended many, and had others crying with laughter.

The picture, featuring foolhardy police who battle terrorists, also offered an unforgettable, hot and steamy puppet sex scene that nearly got the film slapped with an NC-17 rating. The DVD features all of the unedited puppet love.

One famous film critic south of the border described Stone and Parker as a couple of teenagers out to offend as many people as possible.

“What we're making fun of in the movie is extremes,” Parker said. “You know, we're making fun of people on the far right and the people on the far left, because most of us sane people are in the middle somewhere.”

The two also lend their voices to many of the characters in “Team America” and many of the inhabitants of South Park, including Cartman, Kenny, Kyle and Stan.

“It's not out of necessity. It's not out of our love of doing voices, it's just that we are always changing stuff constantly,” Parker explained.

“Team America” is available on DVD this Tuesday.
